Dataset of the Day: As the Inauguration Approaches…
With the 2009 Presidential Inauguration of President Elect, Barack Obama, approaching I thought it would be helpful to post a map that would show the locations of different bed and breakfasts and hotels located throughout Washington, D.C. If you are planning on joining the expected 2 million people on the National Mall on January 20th you may want to find a place to crash for the week or evening.
Your chances of finding a hotel room by this point are probably pretty slim, but if you have managed to book a room already, then you can find it by using this map. You can also find hotel locations where your friends might be staying. Click Finder! to view the dataset.
In addition to enjoying some local fare while your are in Washington D.C., you may also want to check out some of the historic sites that our Nation’s Capital is famous for. The below map highlights (in amber) Historic Districts, National Historic Parks, and National Historic Sites, and other areas of historic significance in the District of Columbia.

Hi, although the inauguration is already ended, I think I can still use your map. I intend to visit DC on the 14th and a good hotel new Lafayette Square would be good. Thanks for sharing this.
Hi there, I just want to say that your map did me a lot of help. I was able to search for the best hotels near Lafayette. Thanks again!
